Hi, I'm Emily
I’m a graphic and product designer, and I founded Oileán Álainn (Lovely Island) to bring Ireland’s offshore islands to life through collaborative community-focused design.
My first island adventure was 10 years ago when I first set foot on Inishturk. It was then I first experienced that special blend of community, heritage, natural beauty, and tranquility that makes an island visit so very special.
Having since visited many more islands I've gained an awareness of just how unique each island is, as well as the many challenges they can face.
This project blends my love for design, storytelling, and the natural world into something that (I hope!) will connect people to Ireland's offshore islands in new and meaningful ways.
More than just merchandise, this is design made with the community, for the community. And a portion of sales will directly go to island community funds.
With Inishturk having served as the pilot island this project is in it's early stages, so follow me along my journey as I aim to represent all of Ireland's inhabited offshore islands
